               A Look Beyond the Scoreboard

Athletics or sports programs do not teach character. Coaches teach character, coaches who set out to incorporate lessons of character into their practice and game plans. A coach who measures and rewards character will produce athletes who reveal character in their everyday lives.

In today's sports culture we, too often, see "win at any cost" promoted. Cheating, drugs, over aggressiveness and unethical behavior are accepted as just a part of the game.

Beyond The Scoreboard promotes building individuals and teams of character. Teaching character is foundational. Winning is important, that is why we keep score. More important, though, are the life lessons athletes learn that will carry one through "beyond the scoreboard".
